CHASING TWISTERS

Chasing Twisters combine their British pop and rock upbringings with their favourite American country influences to create their own twist of original modern country music. 4th Time Lucky would also be a good name for the Stoke-On-Trent based band. That’s how many attempts former Tara’s Secret guitarist/songwriter Craig Chapman took to bring together a band of like-minded players, keen to create new music rather than rehashing classics. Of course, the dreaded Covid hindered the development too, with one former version rehearsing at measured 2.5m distances in a Mansfield park, to avoid being arrested. Linking up with former Silk Street singer/bassist Laura Holden in October 2021 changed that course, as both brought along their original songs. Modern country music certainly figures in there somewhere, in a melodic, English storytelling kind of way, mixing with influences from Sugarland, Ashley McBryde, Matchbox Twenty, Alanis Morrisette, Lady A and Sheryl Crow. A few more players came and went until Chasing Twisters were established with Chris Cooper on drums.
